Beirut, Lebanon, Feb 13, 2025: Alfa would like to clarify that the cause of the disruption in some of our services on Wednesday was due to a technical issue that occurred during an upgrade operation of an obsolete router that carries data traffic.
Alfa apologizes to its subscribers for the incident. At the same time, we would like to inform our subscribers that our network is undergoing modernization to ensure technological readiness and cater for the significant increase in data consumption, which reached 164,000 terabytes in 2024. Going forward, whenever a major upgrade is planned as part of this modernization strategy, Alfa will be informing subscribers in advance to prevent any confusion.
Furthermore, Alfa announces that it is planning to offer a “commercial gesture” to all subscribers as compensation for the disruption. The details of this gesture will be shared soon via our official social media channels, and SMS.
