Beirut, Lebanon, April 25, 2025: Minister of Telecommunications Charles Hage made an unannounced visit to Alfa’s headquarters in Dekwaneh to get a closer look at the company’s operations, observe the workflow, and listen to employee concerns. The visit comes as part of the Minister's assessment of the state of affairs at the Ministry’s affiliated institutions.
Minister Hage toured the company's various departments, closely observing the work progress, shaking hands with employees, and expressing his appreciation for their efforts.
The visit also covered the Alfa Store as the Minister was keen to observe how services are provided to citizens.
Minister Hage addressed the employees emphasizing the importance of their role, saying, "I am here today, unannounced, to simply to say: thank you. Thank you for keeping this vital sector running - even during the most difficult times our country has seen."
He stressed that “productivity alone, and nothing else, will be the principle that will guide employee growth within the company”.
He also stressed “the need to put the right person in the right place, noting that the management's responsibility lies in identifying employees' potential and utilizing it efficiently”. He said, "I don't believe there’s such thing as a bad employee, but rather a bad manager who failed to assign them to the right position where they can excel."
He added: "you are fortunate to work in a sector that provides you with a good income, and I believe that the company treats you in an excellent manner. Therefore, I believe that you are convinced, along with me, that you must double down on your efforts and focus to support your company and help it provide the best service to the Lebanese citizens and visitors to Lebanon, especially in the summer season. Simultaneously, we must provide the state treasury with money supply, since the government is counting on you to help in many aspects, foremost among which is improving the salaries of the public sector staff, especially those who protect Lebanon and protect us all."
The Minister urged everyone to work within a team spirit and with professionalism, underscoring that real change starts from within the institution, and that the time has come to "build something stronger, together."
Minister Hage concluded by saying: "as promised by His Excellency the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, the time for reform has come. Each one of you plays a role that directly impacts the lives of your citizens, your families, and your friends, and their ability to connect with the world and interact with what is happening in it. I expect you to be up to this noble task."
